After having discovered the “antas” no Alentejo, I started a journey along the Atlantic coast, from Portugal, to Brittany, Ireland and The Drenthe a province of Holland to discover the remains of the megalithic architecture erected 8,000 years ago. The European men left behind numerous and enigmatic legacies. They are impressive or timid, sometimes hidden in the forest or on the edge of the ocean. Some of them covered a burial plot which became o place of worship, a sanctuary. A stone road was added, large circles of earth encompassed them in a strong intention to modify nature.
Most of the time only their structure remains and radiate a strange alchemy, a magnetic energy.
It is this sensation that I seek to transmit in my paintings.
